March 7 (Sunday) Campership Luncheon/ SUMC Family Life Center
Donations help send our children, grades 1-12, to camp this summer. Last year, camp costs ranged from $150 to $390 per camper (depending on age and activity) at Camp Galilee, El Dorado Springs, Mo. Off-site camping costs more. Parents pay $50 deposit to register one child, church provides financial assistance for remaining amount.
Camp Galilee manager Brad North will be with us to share information about camp opportunities. The UMW Reach Out Circle provides meat salads; Christian Service Circle, pasta or fruit salads; Shalom Seekers, vegetable or lettuce salads; our youth bring dessert. Contact Mary Anne Manring for more information.
March 14 (Sunday) One Great Hour of Sharing/ Sanctuary
10:30-11:30 a.m.
One Great Hour of Sharing supports the adminstrative costs that underwrite UMCOR. Giving faithfully enables UMCOR to cover the cost of doing business and ensures other donations to specific programs and projects, such as the Haiti relief effort, go 100 percent to the designated program or project and not to administrative costs.

Internationally acclaimed Christian recording artist Wayne Kerr brings The One Voice Tour to SUMC for a free 250-seat engagement. Seats must be reserved; contact Gary Faulker (gary13(at)windstream.net) or Zane Elder (youth.minister4god@gmail.com/ 501-499-3544).
March 28 (Sunday) Palm Sunday Cantata, "We Were There"/ Sanctuary
10:30-11:30 a.m.
The cross is seen from many aspects: on top of a church, as jewelry, masterpieces of art, or on a SUMC church wall presented by the people. In "We Were There" by Pepper Choplin, we hear from those who stood at the foot of the cross of Calvary. Worship with us as our choir presents its cantata.
April 1 (Thursday) Holy Week Service/ Sanctuary
7:30 p.m.
Holy Communion and a service of darkness called Tenebrae invite us to walk commemoratively with Jesus through his trial, his dark night in the garden of Gethsemane and his death at Calvary. Candles, hymns, Scripture readings and reflections recreate the betrayal and agony of those events. The darkness of Holy Week Service beckons us to the light of Easter. Join us as we contemplate the darkness that leads to the Light.
