Where Our Money Goes

The Stockton United Methodist Women’s income derives from two sources:  member pledges and our rummage sale.

1. Pledges offered by our members are sent to the Women’s Division, which supports a variety of programs that focus on assisting women, children and youth.

Domestically, we support community centers such as child care and elder care, violence and abuse recovery centers, job training programs for single mothers, and other programs that foster justice and reconciliation.

Internationally, we provide support to mission personnel, and contribute to  programs such as nutrition and basic health care, women’s rights, child labor, and job training.

2.  Our semi-annual rummage sale contributes funds for our local missions giving. On behalf of our members, we distribute these funds to several local or state non-profit organizations that provide a variety of community services. For example, our unit generously contributes funds for Arc of Hope, Exodus House, Barceda Families, Stephen Ministry, and various other UMW missions.
