Reading Program

The UMW reading program stimulates members to learn more about world events and missions and what they can do to help. Reading program participants complete one of five reading plans each year. Each plan requires reading a different number of books from four categories and some require regularly reading the Response and/or New World Outlook magazines each year.

Our unit purchases about 35 new books and several magazines each year. All of the reading program books (including cassette tapes and compact discs) are available for loan from our library, upstairs in the education wing. Our reading program books are listed alphabetically by title, author (starting with the books that entered the program in 2009), and reading program category (Education for Mission, Nurturing for Community, Social Action, Spiritual Growth, and Large Print All Categories).

Visit our UMW library upstairs in the education wing to borrow them plus a growing collection of audio cassettes and compact discs.
